For Traveling International & U.S. Patients
Dr. John Reinisch has extensive experience treating adults & children with microtia. Patients from around the world seek out his expertise and knowledge to guide them through their microtia treatment. We are happy to assist out-of-town patients traveling for microtia treatment and MEDPOR® reconstruction, by arranging for lodging and accommodations near our Beverly Hills microtia surgeon's office. Our multilingual staff can assist non-English language speakers. Whatever your family's needs, we can create a customized treatment plan to help ensure your comfort and confidence throughout treatment.
The Ronald McDonald House can provide accommodations for families traveling for medical care.
United States Patients
• 1st visit for surgical procedure
• 2nd visit, after two weeks, for follow up & first dressing change
U.S. patients typically come for the one surgical procedure and return after two weeks to our Beverly Hills, CA, office for the first dressing change. After this second visit, most patients can continue follow-up care with a local physician or general care practitioner who will remain in contact with Dr. Reinisch. We are always available for further follow-up appointments should complications arise, but most of our U.S. based patients need only visit us twice. Contact our office to learn more about our local area and how to arrange your travel and accommodations.
Families Traveling for Ear Surgery & Process
International Patients
• One visit for surgical procedure & follow up
• Stay for 3 weeks to ensure a successful outcome & for 1st dressing change
Reinisch Plastic Surgery welcomes patients from all over the world. As a pioneer in the field of microtia surgery, Dr. John Reinisch is pleased to provide effective surgical reconstruction for the patients in his care. It is an honor to be able to share this life-changing treatment with patients from many cultures and nations. We do everything we can to ensure our patients' travel experience is as pleasant as possible, including: travel visas, accommodations and translation.
Our international patients usually stay in the area for three to four weeks. Because it may be difficult to return to the United States if complications arise during healing, it is best for patients to remain under the doctor’s care until he is satisfied the treatment is successful. This time frame includes the time required for consultation, surgery, and the first bandage change two weeks after surgery. It also allows for an additional one to two weeks to monitor healing and regeneration.
Reinisch Plastic Surgery partners with the Ronald McDonald House of Southern California, which provides accommodations to families traveling for medical care. In addition, Dr. Reinisch maintains a network of local families who are willing to host patients and their families. This is an excellent resource for patients who do not have lodging, and we will be happy to help you connect with those in our community.
