Dr. Reinisch Recieves Leonard R. Rubin Award
From all of us at the office, we'd like congratulate Dr. Reinisch and his recent accomplishment on winning the 2015 Leonard R. Rubin Award. We are especially pleased to announce that Dr. Reinisch has also recieved this award in 2004.
On April 11, 2015, Dr. Reinisch attended the annual American Association of Plastic Surgeons (AAPS) meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona and recieved the Leonard R. Rubin Award. The Leonard R. Rubin Award was named in honor of Dr. Leonard R. Rubin and is presented each year to the author of the paper selected by the Awards Committee as the best scientific paper presented at the annual meeting. Dr. Reinisch is currently at the annual meeting of the european Association of Plastic Surgeons (EURAPS) in Edinburgh, Scotland where he was invited to present his paper that won him the award.
His paper "Medpor Ear Reconstruction: A Twenty-Three Year Experience with 1042 Ears" explores the Medpor ear reconstruction method for Microtia. This innovative ear recinstructive surgery is a method he developed and started performing in the 1990s. Over a thousand children and adults has benefited from this surgery method. The Medpor ear reconstruction method is done in a single outpatient surgery, with little pain and discomfort for patients, and produce beautiful symmetrical results.
