2014 Shanghai, China and Seoul, Korea Microtia Conference
October Microtia Atresia Conference Announcement
The last Asia Microtia Atresia conference of 2014 is quickly approaching. We would like to invite both prospective and post-operative families in Asia to join us for the Microtia Atresia conferences this upcoming October in Seoul, Korea and in Shanghai, China. Each year, Dr. Reinisch travels to Asia 3 times for conference. This year we have been to Beijing, China in March and Guangzhou, China in July with great turnout and feedback from families. The conference in Seoul, Korea will take place on October 10th at the Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas in Gangnam-gu. The conference in Shanghai, China will take place on October 11-12th at the Intercontinental Shanghai Pudong in the Pudong New Area of Shanghai.
Conference Schedule
For the Seoul conference, the conference schedule will be individual consultations with Dr. Reinisch and Dr. Roberson only. New patients will have 30 minutes consultation with each doctor and returning patients will have 15 minutes.
For the Shanghai conference, the conference schedule will include presentations from Dr. Reinisch and Dr. Roberson. Topics covered includes: Causes of Atresia and Microtia, audiological testing, child development and auditory processing, evaluation process, outer ear reconstructions with an in-depth explanation of Medpor technique and other methods of microtia surgery in the United States, hemifacial microsomia and jaw reconstruction techniques, up-to-date information on the latest research and development. Since new information and insights in the area of atresia and microtia continues to advance, and therefore we recommend both post-operative patients and prospective patients and families to attend the conference to hear the lectures. Following the lectures and on the second day of conference, each conference attendee will be scheduled for 10-15 minute appointments with Dr. Reinisch and Dr. Roberson. During individual consultations, the patient's case is discussed and recommendations for surgery is given.
For both conferences, it is recommended families bring the following to the individual consultation appointment: CD or films of CT scan (applicable when the child is 2.5 years or older), past audiology test, photos of the child if not in attendance (both front and microtia side view).
